<[]>----------<SLFFVII Midgar RP Community Rules>----------<[]>
1. GENERAL SIM RULES
______

a. Please refrain from excessive OOC speaking and actions. Being an OOC observer is fine, but remember, you don't exist. This is an RP sim,

and there are people trying to roleplay.
Due to the sim's mandatory use of the RPTool, simply typing without the RPTool is also widely accepted as OOC as your text will come up in the

normal SL chat color rather than the object speech color.

b. Our community sims are set to no flight for a reason, it is distracting, the only members allowed to fly are Builders, Admins, GMs and Rental

Team Volunteers.

c. Chatbugs and Spying equipment are strictly prohibited and will result in ejection and potentially being banned from our community.

d. Jump/Movement Enhancers, Wallclimbers and Grappling Hooks are restricted without prior approval from the GM Council.

e. The sims of the SLFF7 RP Community are not sandboxes, please do not use them for building or testing high prim objects.

f. Annoying gestures and sound spam will result in land ejection and a warning, continuance will be considered griefing and result in a ban.

g. Explosives are restricted without approval from the GM Council, they cause lag and do unfair damage to FFRC units.

h. The SLFF7RP is a NO NUDITY COMMUNITY, please remain wearing clothes at all time.

i. No excessively hateful or foul language. Please keep this in mind. Swearing is allowed in RP, if absolutely necessary, but please use restraint in

OOC conversation and with personal grievances. Repeated insults and foul language will result in a warning. Play nice with your fellow RPers.
If you feel that you cannot speak with the other person calmly, please call the GMs and one will set up a meeting with all parties to moderate

the affair. All in all, we're all adults here, please act like it.

j. If you feel you are being harassed by another player, you must tell that other play to stop and use the word stop. If the player persists after

you say stop, it is harassment. Harassment claims where the complainant does not ask the other to stop first will not be investigated.

k. If your avatar is considered to be out of character, uncanon, or is disrupting RP (i.e. a Koolaid avatar, giant mech, overly primmy armor,

unallowed species etc.) you will be asked to remove it.

l. Deliberate use of prims, particles, scripts, gestures, pictures, gadgets, or general idiocy to purposefully harass, annoy, obstruct or offend

others is strictly forbidden. Any alleged use of spam objects, orbit, trap or push weapons, offensive imagery or excessive particles will be

investigated immediately and the perpetrators will be warned and possibly banned from the sim depending on the severity of the greivance.

Anyone violating a ban by, for example, returning as an alt, will be reported to Linden Labs.

m. Just because something is sold in a store in sim, does not mean it is approved for IC use, please check the rules to make sure the item does

not violate sim rules, if in doubt, contact a GM, Admin, or your Faction Leaders.

n. Participation in this RP requires RPTool and FFCS2 unit, available at no cost from the skybox mall.

o. If you would like to be an OOC observer, please be sure to indicate somehow that you are OOC. There is a simple "OOC" hovertext titler

available in the skybox for such an indication. This helps everyone know that you're OOC and not looking to interact just yet.
If you are out of character and observing an RP but the RPers involved would rather you not be hanging about OOCly, you may be asked by the

players to move away, please comply with what the RPers ask. Remember, this community is RP first.

2. CHARACTER RULES
______

a. You cannot RP a canon character or any character with special powers without first gaining the permission of the GM Council; anyone found

RPing said type of character without permission will be subject to a 24 hour ban. Repeat offenders will face a permanent ban.
Canon character refers to any character from Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, or any other related Squaresoft/Square Enix title, whether it be

from the movie or the game.
If you would like to apply for a canon character, please feel free to contact a GM about their availability. You can also find the list of current

canon characters and their availability in the infohubs and on the community forums.

b. You cannot use group tags to claim you are something in this RP that you are not. (i.e. SOLDIER, Turks, AVALANCHE, ShinRa MPs, etc.) People

using group tags from other FF and FF7 related RPs are not allowed to RP them here, regardless of their reason for wearing them. In short, if

you haven't earned it here, don't use it.

c. The use of individual or combined unique names from Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, or any other Squaresoft\Square Enix title is not allowed

here unless you are playing that character. For example: You cannot go by names like "Cloud," "Tifa," "Lulu," "SephiRoxas" "Yuna," or "Zidane."

(This is not an all inclusive list.)
Last names of Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts characters are also not allowed, you can not play as a "Strife" or "Gainsborough" for example,

common names in the FF Universe such as "Highwind" may be approved with GM Council consent.

d. The creation of canon FF7 groups and factions is also GM ruled. This includes groups stemming from said factions. (Groups such as bands of

Ex-SOLDIERS, rogue MPs, etc.) They must be brought up with the GMs and approved by the council as well.

e. You are not allowed to have your character undergo Mako or Jenova Cell Treatment unless you are an official member of SOLDIER.

f. Contact with Mako does not give you anything special. Exposure to Mako, however, can and will cause Mako Poisoning which will result in a

week comatose. In extreme cases such as, to say, falling into a mako reactor, your character can die from Mako exposure. This end result is

completely at the player of the Mako exposed character's discretion.

g. Knowlegde of Jenova or the Cetra, are top secret and only known about by the highest ranks of ShinRa or through character backgrounds

approved by the GM Council.

h. Just because you have this or that avatar doesn't give you special abilities. You will have to follow the same rules as everyone else. If you

would like to be a monster, you are allowed to apply for one, but unless you are, you will not have the special abilities usually associated with

being an inhuman creature. (i.e. scent tracking, extremely keen hearing and sight, etc.) Remember, the only difference between a "furry" and a

human are their appearances, niether is better than the other. (Of course this does not effect IC segregation and dislike - however refrain from

outright harassment.)

i. Characters which are anthropomorphic versions of any hooved creatures (equine, bovine, swine, etc.) are not allowed, this rule does not apply

for random encounters.

j. We do not allow Vampires or Werewolves. Vincent Valentine was a demonic creature, but only due to extensive experiments performed on

him by Hojo. If you do, however, believe you have a good and canon reason to have a character which can change shape or a good reason for

your character to act as a vampire and would like to submit a special character application, feel free to do so. Be advised, it is highly unlikely

that either concept would pass.

k. Wings are not allowed, the only characters with wings are Angeal, Genesis and Sephiroth, as they have wings canon to the storyline.
On some rare occasions the GMs may approve other characters to have wings, however these requests are usually denied. Winged Random

Encounters (Monsters) usually require approval by the GM Council - this goes along with the no-flying rule we have for our community.

l. Humans and Furries are the only allowed playable species that are not Random Encounters or Pets, this means no robots (Unless an allowed

ShinRa Mech), no cyborgs, no cruxes, no elves, drows, demons, summons, ogres, orcs, or any creature not a part of the FF7 Universe.
Moombas/Insects/Water Creatures/Fish/Amphibians and Dragons characters are also not allowed, the only characters of these species allowed

are grandfathered as they were created before this rule came in effect.
Avians and Lizards are occasionally allowed under special request, contact a GM for more information.

m. Pets/Familars are not allowed to talk.

n. Cyborg characters or those with -highly advanced- robotic/cybernetic/weapon limbs are not allowed without approval.

o. Please try not to equip iconic weapons from FFVII such as Buster Swords or Masamunes, the sim also does not allow use of Keyblades.
Weapons from other FF games or other anime/manga mythologies are allowed, however if they are considered to be too distracting or unreal

to the Final Fantasy VII World, you may be asked to remove them.
The SLFF7 Administration does not have to pay for replacements of weapons which we may ask you to remove, however they will try and assist

you in finding something more appropriate if you request, and in some cases may provide you with a free weapon to use for the time being.

p. Character who are under the age of 16 (child characters) require a Special Character Application before they can be played. Our RP

Community involves combat, and due to Linden Labs Terms of Service, there are certain restrictions which must be adheared to for child and

underaged characters. Portrayal of an underaged/child character without approval form the GM Council can result in removal of that character

from play or a ban. In addition, most all child/underaged characters will be required to use the Civilian FFCS2 unit to represent their frailness.

3. FACTIONS AND GROUPS
______

a. There is a lock on the ShinRa door to keep people from rushing past guards before they can RP a response. If the door is ever left unlocked,

then be reasonable and RP a bit before rushing in. Give guards time to respond and don't just run in with guns blazing. (True you were able to

barge in guns blazing in the game, but you are attacked by the guards shortly afterward, and due to this being SL and not pre-programmed,

you need to do it slowly and RP it. And if you wish to contest the doors locking at all, Midgar is currently at war with Wutai. The ENTIRE building

would be under moderate to high security.)

a2.Regarding ShinRa: ShinRa Tower is ALWAYS guarded, if there are no player characters around, the building is considered locked down and

inaccessable.

a3. The ShinRa elevator does not work for those who are not in ShinRa. Unless you have RPed taking a keycard, even then, an MP would have

access to the 66th floor, any higher is off limits unless you have downed a SOLDIER, a Brigade Commander, a Turk, or other executive and

pilfered theirs.

a4. If you do take a keycard, it will only be valid for an hour before it will become void.

a5. The cells cannot be opened from the inside, no matter how hard you try it can not be done. (This includes Tier 1/2 Units. You cannot break

a cell door down.)

a6. If you wish to break someone out of the cells K.O someone, restrain them then life them, after this you can hold them hostage and force

them to open the cells.

b. Regarding AVALANCHE and Wutai: Their bases cannot be found at this time.

b1. AVALANCHE members may declare free escape if they are able to make it to a sewer access point. As complex and dark as the sewer

system of Midgar is, MPs are unable to navigate the tunnels successfully.

b3. It is considered a common courtsey to inform the Faction Leaders of a Faction if you wish to launch an attack against their base. Failure to

do can result in the "attack" being voided.

c. Please do not spam the group chats with usless information, complaints, advertisements, or things like, "Why was I banned?" If you have a

question about an ejection or ban, please go the the GM channel and politely request the GM that Kicked/Banned you to contact you and you

can settle the matter without spamming the public channels. The world does not need to know your problems.

4. COMBAT
______

a. You can only take part in RP on this sim if you have an FFCS2 Combat System. These are purchasable from the Midgar and Junon skyboxes,

prices vary between 150l - 250l per unit, however a free Civlian unit is also available if you want to dive straight in.

b. It is forbidden to take advantage of any bugs or errors in the FFCS2 system or materia. This includes permission errors, modding your

systems or materia to make them 'better' or stronger and rezzing damaging prims/effects on an avatar, if caught cheating you will face a

permanent ban.

c. Cheating includes manipulation of SL glitches to gain an unfair advantage, for example to jump or run further or faster.

d. Taking your FFCS2 off in the middle of a battle is strictly forbidden, doing so will lead to a 4 hour ban. Second offense will be a 24 ban. Third

offense will make you subject to a permanant ban by the GM council.

e. Removing your FFCS2 after a battle puts you into the wounded status for 24 hours, no exceptions. It's better to get wounded and wait 4

hours than remove it and wait 24.
To promote RP and keep those who have been defeated in an FFCS2 battle from being cast out of RP until someone finds their lifeless body,

you are currently allowed to reset (detach/re-attach) your FFCS2 after at least five minutes with no RP and no combat occurring near you. In

some events, the "no combat / no RP" clause may be waived at the discretion of the event holder.

f. As of now you are allowed to change classes, but only when you are out of combat, at full HP and MP, and are not "wounded." Remember,

you have to remove your current FFCS2 to change to another, so the previous rules still apply. Be prepared to have a good IC reason to be

adept at multiple classes. This is a privilage to add some slight realism to the sim, as class changes are not canon, don't abuse it.

g. Please stick to the weapons designated to your class.
Fighters, Casters and Battlemages can only use melee weapons, Gunners and Gunmages can only use ranged weapons, Brutes can use melee or

ranged.
Gunners are the only class that can duel wield guns/ranged weapons, any other ranged class can only use a single ranged weapon.

h. Unofficial FFCS2 Magics and Materia are not allowed to be used IC or OOC without the prior permission of the GM Council.

i. Guns are only to be used on single fire with damage or training bullets. Guns must have a fair firing rate, a realistic clip size (i.e. no 1000

round clips) and must reload. Guns must have a firing sound and bullets are preffered to have hit sounds. Only ShinRa MAD units, certain other

faction units, and approved characters may have "laser" weaponry. If you're using a gun and you don't have a laser weapon approved, it shoots

bullets.

j. If your weapon is considered too fast, does too much damage in one hit, or has questionable effects as determined by GM, you may be

asked to remove it or switch to another weapon.

k. Melee weapons are not allowed to fire prim bullets to deal extra damage, if your weapon is caught doing this you will be asked to remove it

and given a warning. (i.e. Samurai Island weaponry)

l. Push weapons, orbiters, cagers and explosives are strictly prohibited. Occasionally explosives are used in storyline events set up by GMs, but

in those instances use of explosives must be approved by said GMs.

l1. Some factions permit their members to use certain explosives as faction perks and/or rewards. These are an exception to the traditional "no

explosives" rule.

m. Attacking people "out of the blue" is not allowed. This is also known as "KOS" or "Kill On Sight". There MUST be an RP introduction from all

parties involved before the fight or it will be voided. The attacking party will face punishment at the discretion of the GMs and the attacked

party may be allowed to reset their FFCS2.

n. If you wish to spar OOCly, you must obtain permission from the player you wish to fight.

o. After your health drops to 0 you are vulnerable to being wounded. Another player may RP wound you via any means necessary aside from

doing anything that would permanently disable or disfigure your character. (IE: Slicing completely through the Achilles tendon, cutting off a

body part, shooting through a vital organ, removing an organ, etc.) After this occurs, you are considered "Wounded" for four hours. In this

span of time, you are not allowed to participate in combat. This would include FFCS2 combat, casting spells using the FFCS2, RP combat, or any

other form of combat. To RP wound a player, a player simply need to post that they are doing it. For a simple example: "Bob stabs Steve in the

calf so he can't walk. [RP Wound]" Please remember to add the little "RP wound" in brackets after the post to be absolutely clear about what

you are doing.

o.2. When wounding a character do not do anything which will cause permanent damage to a character (i.e removing limbs or organs.) without

the other player's consent.

p. RP Combat is not officially supported by the sim, if you wish to use RP Combat, all parties in the fight must agree, if the group is large and

undecided on combat method, try to split into smaller groups of those who wish to RP Combat, and those who wish to play with FFCS2.

p.2. Should you choose to RP your battle, please do not use 'auto-hits'. An auto-hit is where one player emotes that their character landed a

blow or did something to another character in the same post, before the other player had a chance to react in a following post. Please be

realistic in your RP, you are not invincible nor can you dodge every blow. You CAN be injured, you are not a god. (Hence the term godmoding.)

p.3. If a group of players are already within a RP Combat battle, you can not run in and demand they all switch to FFCS2, either join in the RP

combat scenario or walk away.
You can only demand an FFCS2 fight if you are one of the players initiating the battle.
e.g, You are about to begin a fight, opponent wants RP, you want FFCS2, FFCS2 takes precendance.

5. VECHILES
______

a. Vehicles are allowed in our sim as long as they do not cause excessive lag.

b. Please use common sense when using a vehicle. Do not use overly large, disruptive, or laggy vehicles that would disrupt RP or obviously

don't belong in Midgar. (Such as a Porche or other expensive car unless you have a REALLY good IC reason.) Such vehicles are subject to

immediate deletion or return. We reserve the right to delete a vehicle that is being used to harass others or disrupt play.

c. We reserve the right to return a vehicle to it's owner at any time if it is disrupting play by causing too much lag for others.

d. When you are done using any vehicles, please delete them and put them away. Do not leave vehicles lying around the sim, doing so may

result in a temporary ban.

e. Using vehicles in combat is currently not allowed with prior GM Appoval.
They are to be used only if required by an event, and must be using the Vechile Combat System, to obtain this please contact a member of the

GM Council.

6. GAMEMASTERS
______

a. Any non-GM found impersonating one via a title from another group will be banned on sight, the same goes for telling other people you are

a GM when you are not.

b. Muting a GM is a bannable offense, if you are having difficulties with a GM, talk to another GM to deal with it.

c. GMs reserve the right to kick, ban, or otherwise use their given powers for any reason they see fit. They were made GMs for a reason. Please

don't try to go to another GM with the same problem a GM just made a decision on unless you have ample reason to believe that that GM was

in the wrong. This is manipulative and forbidden. Our decisions are final, and we may or may not release a reason for them. If you do have a

problem with a GMs ruling, you are asked to comply at the time and, if you see the need, speak with another GM about the issue. We want

everything to run smoothly for the players and having GMs and players alike arguing in the streets puts both the playerbase and the GM team

in a bad light.

d. If a GM asks you to do something, please do it, there will always be a reason, you may ask why you have been asked to do something, but

do not get cocky or abusive. Refer to rule 6c.
